Westport Sales in July were 50 &#8211; up from 48 in June.  This is up 47.1% from 34 in July of 2009. Sales/list price ratio in July moved down to 94.5% from 94.8% in June.  This is up 65.5% from June 2009.  Monthly sales/list price ratio in June moved up to 94.8% from 92.6% in May.

<p>Westport Sales in July were 50 &#8211; up from 48 in June.  This is up 47.1% from 34 in July of 2009. Sales/list price ratio in July moved down to 94.5% from 94.8% in June.  This is up 65.5% from June 2009.  Monthly sales/list price ratio in June moved up to 94.8% from 92.6% in May. <span id="more-2002"></span></p>
<p>Median price of $1,322,500 in July was up 15.0% from $1,150,000 in June and up 2.5% from $1,290,000 in July of 2009. 3-month average sale price of $1,467,537 in July was up modestly from $1,357,721 in June and up a bit from $1,418,242 in July of 2009.</p>
<p>Monthly inventory of 421 in July was down 2.1% from 430 in June and down 3.9% from 438 in July of 2009. New listings in July moved down to 65 from 81 in June.</p>
<p><strong>Market Time &#8211; The d</strong>ays a house was on market before selling was 86 in July - down modestly from 92 in June and down considerably from 112 in July of 2009. Months of supply of 15.2 in July was down moderately from 16.4 in June and down substantially from 22.2 in July of 2009.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I recently took a trip to Israel and was impressed to discover this article about Westport in &#8220;The Jerusalem Post&#8221;.  It illustrates that Westport, CT is world renown and a wonderful place to call home.  <span id="more-4873"></span></p>
<p>Westport has always been a magnet for creative artists. Famous actors, artists, and writers relocated here when they discovered that Westport is a convenient train ride and a quiet retreat away from all of the frenzy of NYC.  Celebrities continue to love this peaceful town.  Creative types such as Joanne Woodward and the late Paul Newman, Neil Sedaka, Michael Bolton, Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas reside in this beautiful town.  For years Martha Stewart both resided and filmed her television show in Westport. Bette Davis and F. Scott Fitzgerald also once called Westport their home.  Eclectic and cosmopolitan, Broadway and Hollywood luminaries continue to choose to live in Westport making it the Beverly Hills of the East.</p>
